Living Faith, part 6
And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left…Matthew 25:33
Your living faith makes you one of His sheep destined to be at His right hand.
This final judgment is so important Jesus repeats it three times in the Bible. This is the first, Matthew 25:31 thru 46. Verse 31: When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. Jesus will judge those with living faith as His sheep. Those with dead faith, those who refused His invitation believe, are goats. And these will go away to everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life, Verse 46.
The last time this judgment is mentioned in the Bible is in Revelation 20:11-15. This is the same judgment and recorded in Matthew 25, the separation of the saved from the unsaved. In John’s account books are opened and they were judged, each on according to his works, Verse 13. Those whose works were the deeds of dead faith, were cast into the lake of fire, Verse 15.
In between these two is the judgment seat of Christ, 2 Corinthians 9-11. Again, the Bible describes the separation of the sheep and the goats, those with good works and those with bad works. Verse 10: For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. Those, like you, with good works, are rewarded with eternal life. Those who trust in their own righteousness are guilty of bad works. They receive everlasting punishment. These are those relying upon works of the flesh, dead works from dead faith. This is the filthy rags righteousness spoken of by the Prophet Isaiah, 64:6. Your righteousness is the righteousness of Jesus. Made possible by your living faith.
