He Lives

He is able…Hebrews 7:25

Jesus continues forever, has an unchangeable priesthood, Hebrews 7:24. Therefore, He is able to save to the uttermost…since He always lives to make intercession for us, Hebrews 7:25. Jesus is our High Priest. He is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners and has become higher than the heavens…Hebrews 7:26. Jesus has saved us completely. 

Jesus does not lie. He said He left to prepare a place for you in His Father’s mansion. He said He was coming back for you. He is coming to get you so you can be where He is. Jesus is not a liar. He said He was coming back, so He is. Are you ready?

Too often people try to convince us our salvation is up to us. That is, we must abide or we will be burned—we must overcome or we will be overtaken—we must remain obedient or we will fall away from grace. Good news. Our salvation is not up to us. Jesus is able to save you completely because you came to God through Him. But much more, Jesus always lives to make intercession for you.

This is amazing grace. Our salvation is by the power of our eternal High Priest. Our salvation is forever because He is forever. Our life is eternal because He is eternal and we are in Him. Thank God, our salvation is not up to us. For we are weak; too often unstable; too easily led astray. Thank God, Jesus is not unstable. He is the Rock of our salvation. We are saved because of WHO Jesus is, not who we are. Salvation is based upon Jesus’ commitment to us; not because of our commitment to Him.
