Judgement is Coming

God is a just judge…Psalm 7:11

And God is angry with the wicked every day, wrote King David. Like children, many adults are very concerned about what is fair. “But that’s not fair!” We heard our kids say it over and over again. Some adults have not grown out of that stage.

With God, justice is not something outside of Him. Justice is who God is. Fortunately for us, God’s justice is tempered by His mercy and His grace. The only time mankind can exhibit any real justice is when we act more like God. For example, God is no respecter of persons. God cannot be bought off with a bribe.

The Bible confirms this truth. Psalm 89:14: Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne. Mercy and truth go before Your face. For this, we should always be grateful. This is the Father Jesus revealed to us. This is the Jesus we introduce to our children. This truth will help our children grow into responsible adults. At the same time, this truth will establish us to survive in the chaos of this world.

We must teach the truth. We must because this is why Jesus came. In His own words, Pilate therefore said to Him, “Are You a king then?” Jesus answered, “you say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness of the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.” John 18:37 

You are one of those Jesus refers to as “of the truth.” You know this because you heard His voice. Now, it is our duty to teach truth to those who need to respond to the voice of Jesus. Because judgment is coming.
