Sound the Alarm!

Prepare for war! Joel 3:9

Though God had Joel cry out to Judah, “prepare for war!” Verse 9.  He promised to be there with them, Verse 16: The LORD also will roar from Zion and utter His voice from Jerusalem. The heavens and the earth will shake. But the LORD will be a shelter for His people and strength for the children of Israel.

Not only did Joel speak of the coming of the Spirit upon Jerusalem, Acts 2, he spoke of the second coming of Christ. Let the nations be awakened and come up to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. For there I will sit to judge all the surrounding nations, Joel 3, Verse 12. Prior to that judgment, the world must endure the sickle of the Lord, Verse 13: put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Come, go down. For the winepress is full… Sounds very much like the coming of Jesus, Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness of the wrath of Almighty God, Revelation 19:15.

God has declared the end from the beginning. There shall be no place for excuses when Jesus returns. The righteous are with the Lord. The wrath of God is upon the unrighteous. For their wickedness is great, Joel 3:13b. For the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision, Verse 14b. The sun and moon will grow dark and the stars will diminish their brightness, Verse 15. 

Then the world shall know, verse 17: So, you shall know that I am the LORD your God!
