More Reasons to be Thankful
Abundance of grace…Romans 5:17
From the beginning we have been saved by God’s abounding grace. The day Adam and Eve ate of the forbidden tree they died. Though dead, they heard God calling to them in the garden. Like Lazarus heard Jesus call him from his grave, we who are dead in our sins hear God’s call. As Adam and Eve were reconciled to God, so are we: for by grace, we are saved…
From the beginning it was God’s plan to raise those dead in their sins to life in Christ Jesus. Righteousness shall be imputed to us who believe in Him who raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead, who was delivered up because of offenses, and was raised because of our justification. Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ…For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly—that would be us; all of us.
God’s solution to spiritual death: the gospel of grace.
Abundance of love: But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having been justified by His blood, few shall be saved from the wrath through Him. For when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life…Romans 5:8-10
Abundance of sinners: Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned for until the law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed where there is no law. Nevertheless, death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come…Romans 5:12-14
Abundance of sin: Moreover, the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abound much more…Romans 5:20
Abundance of grace: Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous ace the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life…Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more, so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord…Romans 5:18-21
