Power of Forgiveness
Having forgiven you all trespasses…Colossians 2:13
Buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. And you, being dead in your trespasses, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us…Colossians 2:12-14: Verse 14: And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross!
Therefore, if you died with Christ from the basic principles of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to regulations, verse 20.
We who are in Christ are 100% forgiven. No one in Christ is partially forgiven. You are either totally forgiven or not at all. You are either still in Adam (dead in your sins) or you are in Christ (alive and forgiven.)
There is another truth at work in these words of the Apostle Paul. You are the completed work of Jesus on the cross. Therefore, you are not the sum total of what you did, do or are doing. You are the sum total of what Jesus did. You either have The Spirit or you don’t. There is no such thing as “a half a Christian.”
With Jesus, there is no middle ground. There is no fence to straddle. You are either in or you are out. You are either in Christ or not. You are either forgiven or not. While the choice was yours to make—to believe or not—that is all you did to participate in having the handwriting of requirements that was against you wiped out; that is, nailed to the cross—His cross; not your cross.
Soon Jesus will separate the sheep from the goats, the wheat from the tares, the saved from the unsaved. There is no middle ground. You are either with Jesus or against Him. You are either dead in your sins or alive in Christ. You are either forgiven or not. Choose forgiveness. Choose life!
