Living Faith
For I believe God…Acts 27:25
Chapter 27, verse 1: And when it was decided that we should sail to Italy… Paul was going to Rome. For a long time, Paul wanted to go to Rome. He leaves on this day for Rome, at the expense of the Roman government for he is their prisoner. Yes, God’s ways are not our ways.
As the winter storm increases the crew and passengers lose hope, verse 20: Now when neither sun nor stars appeared for many days, and no small tempest beat on us, all hope that we would be saved was finally given up.
But God’s ways are not our ways. Verse 23: For there stood by me this night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve, saying, “Do not be afraid, Paul; you must be brought before Caesar’ and indeed God has granted you all those who sail with you. Therefore, take heart, men, for I believe God that I will be just as it was told me, Acts 27: 23-25.
After 14 days, Paul urged them to eat. Verse 35: he took bread and gave thanks to God in the presence of them all; and when he had broken it he began to eat. They all ate and 276 people were saved on the island of Malta, verses 22 thru 44.
This is an example of living faith. God had told Paul he was going to Rome. Paul believed God. God told Paul he and all the people on the ship would live. Paul believed God. God has told you He is coming for you. You believe God. Your life now may be in a storm. But you believe God no matter the circumstances. This is living faith!
