Hold fast to My name…Revelation 2:13

Lest you think God does not know, read the words of a letter to another church. I know your works, and where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is. And you hold fast to My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days in which Antipas was My faithful martyr, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells.Revelation 2:13 to the Church in Pergamos.

The situation in Pergamos sounds like our situation. Many days it seems we dwell in Satan’s kingdom. If so, then we do what they did: we hold fast to the Name of Jesus; we hold fast to our faith in God, even when those who do are killed for their faith.

This we shall do. We shall hold fast to the word which was preached to us through the Scriptures, 1 Corinthians 15. We shall test all things and hold fast what is good. 1 Thessalonians 5:21. We shall hold fast to sound words in faith and love which are in Christ Jesus, 2 Timothy 1:13.

This we resolve. We shall hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end, Hebrews 3:6. Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast to our confession. Hebrews 4:14.

Though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, we shall fear no evil. For we know and hold fast to what we know; God is on His throne; Jesus is our King. And Jesus knows our situation. He knows the world in which we live. And not just the world, but our personal situation, with all its hardships. We know His invitation, “Come unto Me…” And we have and we do.

The more the world pulls the tighter our grip on God our Savior, Jesus our Lord. We shall hold fast to the Name of Jesus! For His name is Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peach, Immanuel, Yashua, and our government is upon His shoulder for He is the Son who was given, the Child who was born…Isaiah 9:6 (sort of)
