Sealed Forever

Once for all…Hebrews 10:10

Hebrews 10:5 brings forward Psalm 40:6-8: Sacrifice and offering You did not desire. The purpose of these were to bring us to Jesus, Galatians 3:22-25: But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed. Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. Once we are in Christ, the law is no longer necessary. We are dead to the law, Romans 7:4.

Which brings us to us; Verse 27: for as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. Which brings us to God the Spirit, who is our seal, our guarantee. 2 Corinthians 1:22: who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee. Repeated in 2 Corinthians 5:5 and Ephesians 1:14: who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession…

Which brings us back to Hebrews 10:10 and 10:14. Verse 10: by that we have sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. Not only us, but those who will be sanctified, verse 14: for by one offering has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.

This means our forgiveness is an all-inclusive, life-time guarantee. Everything else is a reminder of how much we need Jesus!
