Helping Others Understand the Bible

Do you understand what you are reading? Acts 8:30

This asked Philip of the Ethiopian as he read from Isaiah. His reply, How can I, unless someone guides me?Thankfully, The Spirit had guided Philip to help with his Scripture reading. Verse 35: Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning at this Scripture, preached Jesus to him. The Ethiopian was reading but not understanding Isaiah 53:7-8, verses 32 and 33. 

You could be someone’s Philip. Like Philip you could be led by the Spirit to lead another to Jesus from the Bible. Joseph was able to interpret dreams by the Spirit of God. As was Daniel, the prophet. As could you. If not dreams, then certainly the word of God. It takes less effort than you might think. Well, unless you call prayer effort. 

God is the Author of The Bible. He gives freely to those who ask for His help. The tabernacle was built by those God gave wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship, Exodus 31:3. Paul prayed for the believers in Colossae for wisdom and spiritual understanding, Colossians 1:9. He also encouraged them to let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord, Colossians 3:16. 

See, it is easier than you thought. Your very acts of worship are a blessing to others; an inspiration to others to seek the Lord. The same Spirit who leads you in worship leads you to teach and admonish. Let others see your smile when you sing and talk about Jesus. Let your eyes see the joy in others of their love of Jesus. Let your ears hear what the Spirit is saying to you—through others and through His Holy Word!
