Not Our Home

He has conveyed us…Colossians 1:13

The discussions Friday, July 7 morning and evening were similar, but different. Both groups agreed with the Apostle Paul, this world is not our home, our citizenship is in heaven. We also agreed the world is in grave danger of losing the battle against sin and then losing the U.S.A. We agreed the important thing to do is teach our children about Jesus; to pray for our enemy, as God has asked of us, and to love one another.

We differed in how we occupy until He comes. It wasn’t a disagreement, for one group did not know what the other group had said. We differed. The morning group concluded we need to earnestly pray. For prayer is what our founding fathers did. Prayer is what God desires of us. Any hope of America returning to its former greatness will be the result of prayer. Prayer and action. That is: stay focused on doing what God has asked us to do—make disciples.

The evening group added to prayer—preparation. We discussed ways for families to homeschool because our public schools are losing the war. We discussed ways to help young families to either home school, enroll their children into private Christian schools or public charter schools. In other words, help them know they are not locked into our failing public schools. We discussed ways to help them in very practical terms. That is, learn how to be less dependent on going to the grocery store so often. Teach them how to can foods at home or with friends; how to stock-pile canned foods by buying an extra product each visit to the store. Teach them to learn a practical skill so they can fix things without access to the internet!  That is, how to do their own car maintenance, do their own home repairs, etc. More importantly, they are motivated to learn these skills so they can help others. For God said to love others even as you love yourself. With the attitude of helping others, they can form groups who share each other’s skill. Including home schooling, etc.

This would please God. For He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, Colossians 1:13-14. This world is not our home; we are just passing through…
