You Are Holy
It is most holy…Leviticus 2:3
These words, it is most holy, appear 11 times in Leviticus. They are used to describe what was sacrificed to the Lord at the Tabernacle. Strange: what was ordinary—whether grain, flour, or animal—before, became most holy to God when offered as a sacrifice for sin. The result of the sacrifice was always the same, his sin shall be forgiven him, Leviticus 4:26 and nine more times.
This was perfected in Christ Jesus. For by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ…so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord, Romans 5:17 & 21.
You were just an ordinary person before Jesus. Because of His perfection, His perfect sacrifice, you were made most holy to the Lord. What was done as a physical reality in the past, has become a spiritual reality now and in the future. By His sacrifice, your sins (plural) were forgiven forever. By their sin offering their sin (singular) was forgiven. For this new and eternal life, we give God the glory and Jesus the thanks. Thank you, Jesus!
