Warning!
Warning every man…Colossians 1:28
Jesus wrote seven letters to seven churches. They are recorded in Revelation, chapters 2 and 3. Each letter is a warning. Each letter is a reminder of God’s forgiveness. While all sins are forgiven, the consequences of sin remain. “Warning” is a seven-letter word. When Jesus warned of the signs of His return, each came with a warning; do not chase after false-christs; false doctrines; idols. In the words of Zechariah, the prophet, for idols speak delusion; the diviners envision lies, and tell false dreams; they comfort in vain, Zechariah 10:2. We have been forewarned!
When Paul wrote to the churches, he also issued warnings as he preached the gospel. Colossians 1:28: Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. The good news Paul preached is summarized in Verse 27: to them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
Jesus is encouraging the churches to be about the preaching and the teaching of the gospel of Christ. While this imperative has always been important, the days seem to be short. All aspects of the gospel are under attack. Children are being taught they have the right—the duty—to determine their own gender. In fact, they are being taught they were born the wrong sex. They must do something soon!
Those who protest are arrested. Pastor Derek Reimer, of Calgary, Alberta, has been arrested twice for protesting drag queens reading transgender stories to children. Meanwhile in America women athletes are being accosted for protesting men competing as women in women sports. Government officials are promoting permanent physical changes for minors who think they might want to change.
It is as though God has already sent the strong delusion, 2 Thessalonians 2:11. More likely, God is allowing the days of Noah to prevail in preparation of Christ’s return. Warning!
