Power of Believing
Not work but believes…Romans 4:5
Romans 4:4-5: Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt. But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness. This includes you.
You are one of those who believes in Jesus. You are one of those who He has justified. Your faith has been accounted to you for righteousness. This is the power of believing. This is the power of the gospel. This is the power of grace. You have been justified by faith and not by works.
Paul then quotes Psalms 32:1 & 2 written by King David. Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom the LORD shall not impute sin. This is you. Your sins have been forgiven; they are no longer imputed upon you. You are free from sin. So, be free of sin’s guilt.
Do not be one of those who worries they may not have time to ask God for forgiveness. Especially, if you are one of those who saves all requests until days end. Jesus did not die once, so He would have to die again and again for each time we fail Him.
We have been given a new heart. It is our mind that is in constant renewal. It is our old mind-set—our old way of thinking—that God is changing. Let Him. Do not fall into the trap of thinking you are saved by good works instead of for good works. For you are a new creation created FOR good works, Ephesians 2:10. Look it up. Verse 10 comes right after Ephesians 2, Verses 8 and 9. You are saved by the power of God. Not by your ability to earn righteousness by anything you may do OR not do!
